Curaçao, a Dutch Caribbean island, is known for its beaches tucked into coves and its expansive coral reefs rich with marine life. Curacao is very popular as a tourist destination. A taxi to town will cost about $25-$40 each way. If you want to go to the nice beaches out west, very cost prohibitive. A small car can be rented at Smart Wheels from $29 a day and you have it the full day to go wherever you want. Although there are a couple decent restaurants within walking distance of many of the hotels, the better places are in town.
