Why do you need to rent a car in Curacao?

Curaçao, a Dutch Caribbean island, is known for its beaches tucked into coves and its expansive coral reefs rich with marine life. The capital, Willemstad, has pastel-colored colonial architecture, floating Queen Emma Bridge and the sand-floored. Curacao’s population is estimate 160.000 people. Curacao is very popular as a tourist destination. A taxi to town will cost about $25-$40 each way. If you want to go to the nice beaches out west, very cost prohibitive. A small car can be rented at Smart Wheels from $29 a day and you have it the full day to go wherever you want. Although there are a couple decent restaurants within walking distance of many of the hotels, the better places are in town. Traffic around Curacao is not too heavy, the roads are mostly very good, and navigation is fairly easy to with a decent map or you could just download maps.me on your smart phone for free. Parking is most likely free everywhere.
